Day 31 & 32: Learning to Cook and Going to Jail

Day 31

I practiced my guitar skills and was feeling hungry afterwards. My fridge is broken again though, so I went to fix it. I got electrocuted and ended up at the hospital.

When they released me, I went down to the dock to fish.

Then I went back home to practice guitar some more. 

Day 32

Today I went to the library and read up on cooking. I lost track of time and by the time I was done, I had to pee so bad that I couldn't make it to the bathroom. I peed my pants in public, and then got arrested for it! If peeing wasn't embarrassing enough, they wanted to shame me further by locking me up. Completely unfair. 

So I slept in jail for the night and was let out in the morning.

Day 30: Meeting the Chef

 Today I went fishing, first thing in the morning. Then I headed to the diner on the dock and introduced myself to the chef, Chet R. Chase. He seems like a nice guy. 

I also met up with Lottie, thinking I had enough money for the Pizza competition entry fee. I was off. I thought I remembered it being 1500 simoleons, but it's 2500. So I needed to get a bit more. 

I stopped by the Burning Spoke but it was too late to begin smoothie sliding. That was okay, though. I talked a bit with Mel Odious. He was feeling super bummed. Apparently he lost a chance at joining a local band. It was Vera Vex's band. She was taking auditions and Mel went to show off his guitar skills, but I guess his style didn't match what she was looking for. 

She's looking for someone popular who can play the guitar. So naturally, Mel has decided to learn to play the whistle and wants to audition again tomorrow. No wonder she rejected him. The man isn't even playing the right instrument. 

The band also needs a place to jam, so as I was leaving the Burning Spoke, I asked around. No one there seemed to have any ideas. I'll ask around more tomorrow. On my way back home I did run into Giuseppi, and he had a guitar for me to buy. It was reasonably priced, too! So I grabbed that and headed home.

Vera was actually right outside my place when I got there, so I spoke to her and asked to join her band. She was all for listening to me play the guitar, so I'll need to up that skill.

Day 29: Ghostly Riddles

 I slept in a bit today. Then I went to the gym and took a dip in the pool before the weight lifting competition. I did horribly.

By that time it was after 5pm. Uncle Hayseed's is closer to the gym than my house, so I went there for a bite to eat and a quick nap. Once I woke up I headed back to the spooky house to try my hand at those ghost riddles again. I got stuck on the fourth riddle again, but I made a guess. I got it correct.

The final riddle was "When I am filled I can point the way. When I am empty, nothing moves me. I have two skins. One without and one within. What am I? I got that one right on the first try.

At that point he was ready to talk. I gave him the urn. He said this was enough to give him peace. I didn't expect a reward, but he gave me one. He said I could have anything from his cellar. He had some interesting items. An Egyptian sarcophagus, a crystal ball table, what looked like a carnivorous plant, and a suit of armor. I gazed into the crystal ball and felt energized, but he said anything, so I ended up taking everything. 

At that point it was 4am. The general store opened in an hour, so I just waited there to see if they had any toilets in stock. They did not. I didn't let that bring me down, though. I sold everything I grabbed from the cellar except that crystal ball table, then headed to my uncle's to get some sleep. I should have enough now to pay Lottie that pizza entrance fee, so I'll do that after I get some shut eye.

Day 27 & 28: A Ghostly Encounter

 Day 27

I went to the library today and read up on the mechanical intricacies of lock mechanisms. Then I read about logic. There weren't any chairs at the library, so I read for a few hours just standing in one place. It was pretty uncomfortable. But by the end of the day, I felt I could successfully speak to this ghost. It was late though, and I was hungry. So I headed to my uncle's for food, then crashed there for the night. 

Day 28

I woke up and immediately headed for the creepy house to pick the lock. It worked! I went inside and didn't see any ghosts. There was an old suit of armor and some other cool old stuff. Maybe it was one of those ghosts that only comes out at night. Or maybe Claire Clutterbell is crazy and only hallucinated a ghost. Either way, I decided to go do some odd jobs and come back later.

While wandering around town I ran into Lottie Cash. She was having a dilemma about some show called Pizza Pandemonium and whether she should donate to it or buy it. I suggested donating, but she hated that idea. She thought that was playing it safe and sounded boring. Then suggested I try to have a little fun and become a contestant on it. So I said sure, why not? Apparently I need to befriend the chef and pay the entry fee, and I guess having some cooking skill would be good. The entry fee is a little steep at 2500 simoleons, so I'll have to take a couple days to earn that.

At 4pm I went back to the spooky house. There was a bed there, so I decided to take a nap on it. Maybe there'd be a ghost when I woke up. There was no sign of a ghost, but I hung around until midnight, and he appeared! So Claire wasn't crazy after all!

His name is Ephram Earl. He seems rather eccentric. He had some riddles for me. 

His first riddle was "How many sides does a circle have?" I got that one correct.

His second one I wasn't so sure of. He asked which didn't belong in a list of fruit, "Apple, grape, banana, or pear." I got that one right as well!

His third was "How many letters are in the alphabet?" Easy enough. 

The fourth I was truly clueless. "What other letter fits the following series? B C D E I K O X. I got that one wrong and the ghost knocked me out. I woke up in the hospital. I guess I'll have to figure this out tomorrow. 

Day 26: A Ghost Story

 First thing I did today was mow some grass. Then I headed for the general store to see if they had a bed or a toilet in stock. I met Claire Clutterbell along the way. She was looking rather pale. When I asked if she was okay, she said she saw a ghost! She said the ghost told her he wanted to find some peace, and the only way he could do that was to get some help from the living with some "earthy matters." At least, that's how she interpreted what he said. Claire also said the ghost was a little wacko. I don't mean to judge, but it kinda sounds like a pot/kettle situation. She's the one claiming to have seen a ghost. I played along, though.

So I asked her what the "earthy matters" were. Apparently he needs someone to find the urn with his ashes, be logical enough to understand what he says, and answer his riddles? And there are five of them? But of course the house he's haunting is locked. Next, I had to ask her why she herself wasn't helping the ghost. She said it was because she had a poem about the whole thing that she needed to get out before it left her. Poor excuse if you ask me. I have encountered a spooky house before when I got lost in the steam tunnels. So that's probably where I'll find this ghost of hers. Assuming there really is a ghost. You know those writer types, sometimes I think they struggle to know the difference between their own world and reality. 

After our chat, I headed into the store. There wasn't a bed, but there was a cheap sofa, so I grabbed that so I would at least be able to sleep in my own home. Next stop was the docks for some fishing! I was careful on my approach to the docks. I didn't want to risk an encounter with the mad Veloci Rooster again. That always seems to be where I see him. Luckily he wasn't there, so I was able to fish in peace.

After fishing, I went home for a quick bite to eat and a shower before heading down into the steam tunnels to go back to that spooky house. I found an urn down there. I'm guessing it's the one that belongs to this mysterious ghost. I didn't think I'd find it so fast, especially in the tunnels. 

I made it to the creepy house and picked the lock on the gate. I couldn't get it open, so I headed home. Tomorrow I'll have to work on improving my logic, and maybe my dexterity? Mechanical skill? I'm not sure. Something to help me pick the lock. Either way, a visit to the library is probably in order.

Day 23-25: Making That Money and Getting Robbed (AGAIN)

Days 22 & 23 

I spent the last two days earning money for the villa. Nothing interesting or noteworthy really happened. By the end of day 22, I was only 72 simoleons short of the 3k that I needed. 

Day 24

I earned some lawn mowing money and I was all set. I headed over to Nicki Knack's Brick a Brack to pay Nicki. 

Once Nicki was paid, I needed to find Giuseppi to help me move. I stopped at home to call him to find I'd been robbed again! This time they stole my toilet! Can you believe it? My toilet! First my bed, now my toilet! Hopefully when I get moved into that villa, the robberies will stop. 

He got everything moved for me pretty quickly. I still didn't have a bed though, so it was back to my uncle's for the time being. Tomorrow I'll need to earn some more money to afford a bed (and a toilet).

Day 21 & 22: New Home Prospects

 Day 21

It was a pretty low key day. I didn't do much. I did some work to earn some cash and searched for a new bed. Naturally, I was late to the store and the nightly auction had begun, which I lost. 

Day 22

I started off with some mower madness. Then I rode around town and stopped to chat with Nicki Knack. Apparently she needs someone to rent out her waterfront villa. She doesn't live there because it's not big enough for her collection of knick knacks. She offered to let me rent it out. It's actually a pretty good deal she offered. I only have to pay her rent one time, have 4 friends and have earned two promotions at two different jobs. Should be easy enough. I think I already have 4 friends, and I know I've already earned the promotions. So really, I just need to make the money. 

I went to the powerlifting competition and actually did better than I usually do. I still need a lot of practice, though. I went and hung out at the Burning Spoke for a bit before it was time to start slinging smoothies!

By the end of the night I was halfway to having the rent I needed for the villa. 

Days 19 & 20: Body building & Job Promotions

Day 19 

Woke up at 11am today. got ready and decided to hit the gym. I hit the punching bag for awhile and increased my strength. I left feeling pretty good about myself. Afterwards, I spoke to Eddie Renalin. He told me I now qualified to enter the Raging Chicken Weightlifting Competition and that he'd sponsor me for it. It happened every day on the second floor of the gym. I still had time, so I went and gave it a shot. I was terrible, and it was exhausting. 

I went to the general store to search for a bed. It was auction time and I lost the bid pretty quickly. It seemed like there was still something sketchy going on there. It was early, but I decided to call it a day. 

Day 20

I woke up early and took the tunnels to the docks for some fishing. When I got down there, I saw a strange button on the ground. I pressed it and was teleported to another area with two recliner chairs. I took the chairs and hit the button again. It teleported me back. It was the most comfortable recliner I ever sat in. 

I continued to the docks and caught some fish. I got promoted to level 3! I certainly wasn't expecting a promotion! My celebration was short lived. As I was stepping away from the fishing spot I got attacked by the veloci-rooster again. This is really becoming quite a problem. I woke up in the hospital awhile later. When I left I headed to Uncle Hayseed's for some lawn mowing. I got promoted to level 3 there too! Feeling good about myself, I headed over to the Burning Spoke in the hopes that maybe I would get a job promotion there too. Unfortunately, no such luck. I went to my uncle's and went to bed.

Day 18: Trying to Open up a Club

 I slept in today. I finally had enough money to open the polka club, so I went to find Detective Dan. The Knick Knack shop had fliers, and I had already distributed some, but I needed to go buy some more. 

My goal for today was to distribute the fliers. As I was going about my business, I ran into Hester. I not only was able to let her know the library was all clear, but I also gave her a flier for the club. 

With all the fliers distributed, it was back to Detective Dan! He happened to walk in while I was working at the Burning Spoke. He seemed pleased that it would be opening up again. I think it'll be good for this little town.

Day 17: Two Hospital Visits

 Got ready for the day today and headed down to the doc for some fishing. The veloci rooster was there again. I ended up in the hospital again. I ran back to the dock with just a little bit of time left to fish before I lost my chance for the day.

I finished up my fishing and on my way home I saw Hester Primm. I hadn't spoken to her about cleaning up the library yet, but as approached her, I realized I smelt awful. So I went home to shower. Before I headed back out, I wanted to get a bite to eat, but my refrigerator was broken, so I tried to fix it. Well, it turns out my mechanical skill wasn't high enough, because it gave me the shock of a lifetime and I ended up in the hospital for the second time today. 

By the time I got out it was after 10pm. I decided to go to some smoothie slinging to finish up the day before going to Uncle Hayseed's for the night. I did check the local shops for a bed but still no luck.

Day 16: Fishing Time!

 Today, I was determined to start the fishing job. Got up around 7am and did just that. I made some quick cash and even got promoted! That did take up the majority of my day, but the time I got home it was already 5pm! I went to the library to search for Hester Primm, but she was nowhere to be found. I decided to head to the bar and do my nightly job before heading home for bed. I wish I had done more today. I didn't realize fishing would take up so much of it. I guess getting closer to opening up the club is something. I'm only 300 simoleons away from my goal. 

Day 15: Bookworms and a Big Rooster

 Today I began handing out fliers for the reopening of the club. I still didn't have the money required to reopen it, but I'm on the right track. I went down to the dock to talk to O. Phil about fishing again, and right as I was about to cast, this oversized rooster attacked me and I ended up in the hospital! Could this be the legendary Veloci Rooster? Didn't matter. I needed to go back to the dock. When I got there, I found out the fishing dock is closed for the day. They're open 3am-3pm and it was just after 3pm when I got there. 

I decided to hit up the library since I couldn't do any fishing. I still had to get those bookworms. Once they were dealt with, I decided to browse some books on cooking in the library. I was getting hungry and thought knowing some new techniques might be fun. 

Naturally, with my newly acquired cooking skill, instead of cooking, I decided to get a burger at the Burning Spoke. I needed to get there to work anyway. 

After that, I asked Uncle Hayseed if I could crash at his place again since I still can't find a bed, and he said I could. What a guy. 

Day 13-14: I've been robbed!

It's been another few days since I posted, and I apologize, my days haven't been super interesting.

Day 13. 

Today I found Hester Primm and returned the overdue library books that I collected from other Sims. Then I went and spoke to Uncle Hayseed. He let me borrow his crowbar for the steam tunnels. Now to find Giuseppi again. I swear, half my time is looking for that man. 

On my search for Giuseppi (again), I bumped into Eddie Renalin and told him I'd like to join the gym. I paid him the 200 and we were square. Then I went back to the Burning Spoke to sling smoothies as I seem to do almost every night.

Day 14

First thing I did today was find Giuseppi and give him those blueprints. Next it was time to find the maintenance ladders. On my quest for the ladders, I stopped by Nicki Knacks Brick a Brack and not only purchased a fishing book, but some fliers to pass out to advertise the reopening of that club. Luckily the ladders weren't far from the knick-knack shop and I was able to get them lowered. Now to find my good friend Giuseppi yet again. I road around town on my scooter for awhile and stopped at Uncle Hayseed's. I tuned up his tractor a bit so I could learn some more about mechanics. For whatever reason, it was one of the requirements to get that fishing job. Now that that was done, it was time to go find O. Phil. I decided to try getting to the docks via the steam tunnels and ended up at a spooky house with a graveyard in front. I couldn't get into it, but I didn't try very hard. It was very offputting. I got out of there as fast as I could. 

It was getting late so I decided to just go do my smoothie job and then go home. I could talk to Giuseppi and Phil later.

I got home to get a good night's sleep after a few hours of smoothie slinging to find out I'VE BEEN ROBBED! They stole my bed! How am I supposed to sleep without a bed? I sold the old couch before moving out of the barn, so now I have nowhere! I hope Uncle Hayseed won't mind me sleeping on his couch until I can afford to get myself a new bed. I wonder if Detective Dan can help me find out who did this. I can't believe this happened to me. 

This has been the worst day of my life.

Day 12: Conversations with Giuseppi, Unveiling Steam Tunnels, and Club Dreams

 Today I spoke to Giuseppi about a car. I've been riding my scooter around, which I love, but a car would feel so much better and faster. Giuseppi has a pretty cool van he uses, but that won't help me any. He told me if I want to get around faster, I could always just use the steam tunnels. He claims he's only ever heard rumors, but I remember the other day when I called him up and he said he'd be there. Giuseppi said if I wanted to get in, I'd need a crowbar and some city blueprints. Apparently they're in a trapdoor in the clock tower that I'm living in. I haven't noticed any trap doors, so I went back home and looked.

I stopped and spoke to detective Dan on the way home to see what I'd need to do to reopen the club I mentioned yesterday. He said it would cost 1000 simoleons. It got shut down because the previous owner (who I learned is Maximilian Moore) owed a bunch on taxes and Dan was the one who shut it down. They both said I'm free to reopen it. So now I need 1000 simoleons and then I need to get some fliers to advertise the reopening. 

After our chat, I made it back home. I found the trap door and just like Giuseppi said, there were blueprints. Now I need a crowbar. First I really do need to talk to O. Phil McClean about that fishing job. He is really hard to please. Everything I say to him just seems to upset him. After chatting for awhile, I think we actually started to get along. 

Before the day ended, I wanted to get some smoothie slinging in at the Burning Spoke so I could earn some cash, not only to join the gym, but to reopen that club. Overall, I'd say it was a good day.

Day 11: Getting Punched in the Face

 I went by the dock on my way to the general store today. It seems like the place a lot of people hang out, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to see if anyone had any overdue library books. I spoke to Vernon Peeve, he seemed angry. Apparently, the weight lifter, Eddie Renalin, insulted Vernon when Vernon was trying to join the gym. I guess it costs 200 simoleons to join and Vernon couldn't afford it. Which is fair. 200 is a lot. I'm going to try and make enough so I can join. 

I made my way to the general store and picked up the fishing pole. Now to befriend O. Phil and get a job fishing! On my way back to the dock I grabbed another overdue book, and then ran into Bucki Brock. I talked to her about her bull riding, and she said she loves it, but her first love was being in a polka band. The club she used to play at closed down because the owner owed a bunch of money. I told her I'd try to get it back up and running. I don't know why I said I'd do that, it seems like it could be a lot of work. I guess that's just my helpful nature. I really do like it here in Sim Valley. 

I went into the gym to talk to more people, and the boxer knocked me out. Not sure why. I was just there to talk. I woke up in the hospital a little later. I was planning to go do the smoothie slinging job at the burning spoke tonight, but getting knocked out kind of put a damper on that plan, so I went home and called it an early night.

Day 10: I need a job

With my new home all set up, I headed down to the docks and asked Olde Salty if he was hiring. He said business wasn't busy enough, but I should go down to the dock and ask around and mention him. I might get some work fishing. 

At Salty's advice, I went and bought myself a fishing pole and got to befriending O. Phil McClean.

I also met the owner of Sim Valley, Daddy Bigbucks.

I spoke with the librarian today too. Apparently the library has a book worm infestation, and I said I'd take care of it so it could open. She also asked me to get some overdue library books from people and I said I would.

I also met Nicki Knack, owner of a trinket shop.

I'm hoping the general store has a fishing pole I can buy, but I'll have to check tomorrow.

Day 7-9 Time to Move

Day 7

It was time to talk to Giuseppi. I went to the dock first. There were more new people to meet. I met self proclaimed art aficionado Daschell Swank, and Lottie Cash who bragged about spending her "enormous inheritance." Giuseppi wasn't there though. Searched the town with no luck. 

Day 8

Still searching for Giuseppi. I met Eddie Renalin. He's some sort of weight lifter. Also met Hester Primm, the librarian. Still no Giuseppi.

Day 9

I told Uncle Hayseed I was having trouble finding Giuseppi, and he gave me his phone number. I gave him a call and Giuseppi said he'd be by the waterfront villa, so I made my way there. On my way I met Maximilian Moore, the head surgeon. 

By the time I got to the villa, Giuseppi wasn't there anymore. I tried calling him again and he said he'd be in the steam tunnels. I have no idea where that is, so I had to just wait. 

I waited at the Burning Spoke, and eventually he showed up. He packed up all my stuff and moved it to the Clock Tower for me. I guess that would be my new home. I unpacked and made myself at home.

Day 6: The Elusive Giuseppi

 Started today off by mowing the lawn. I'll probably go sling some smoothies tonight. I should have the $500 I owe Uncle Hayseed by then. He said I could find Guiseppi at the docks when he wasn't at the Burning Spoke, so I went and checked both places. He wasn't at the Burning Spoke, so I headed to the dock. I met an old sailor named Olde Salty. I also met a man named Duane Doldrum who wants to be the most famous Sim in the world. The weird thing is that he doesn't know how or why he wants to do that. He seems full of himself. I also met Misty Waters, she's the only lifeguard in Sim Valley, and a fisherman who hates people named O. Phil McClean. Guiseppi was yet to be seen, though. 

It was getting late and I still needed to do a shift at the Burning Spoke. I was hoping to run into Giuseppi there when I went back. As luck would have it, he was there. His name is Giuseppi Mezzoalto and I think he may be a criminal of some sort. He said if I need something he can get it, even if it belongs to someone else. So I asked him to help me move. He said sure, but it would cost me. No surprise there. After talking to him, I was ready to do some work slinging the smoothies.

As expected, I earned enough to pay my uncle rent, so I ran home and gave it to him. Tomorrow I'll see how much Giuseppi wants for moving.`    

Day 5: My Very Own Scooter

 I slept in a bit today, but when I got up, I went to the general store to find Detective Dan. I had a feeling he'd be there since he's been investigating the auctions. I told him I didn't notice anything suspicious. He said to just be on the lookout. He believes there's a crime ring here.

After talking with the detective, I went searching for Dusty Hogg. I stopped and chatted with Bucki Brock for a bit. When I told her I was searching for Dusty, she asked me to take an authentic outlaw hat to him. She says it was worn by Black Jesse Jones! Apparently, the last person didn't want it. How could you not want something so awesome??

I found Dusty after wandering around some more. He was impressed with my work. I told him I'd like to be a biker like him someday, and he offered to let me buy a scooter off of him like he used to ride if I did some work for him. I can't imagine a big, tough, guy like Dusty riding a scooter. That's not the point though. He asked me to paint his bike, take some cans to the Virtuchem lab, and keep slinging smoothies. All in a day's work. I gave him the hat too, and he was grateful. 

I have access to more of the town now, the bikes are no longer blocking the road and the roadblocks by Uncle Hayseed's are gone too. I explored a bit, looking for the lab. It was already 7pm by the time I got there. I was worried they'd be closed for the night, but I was wrong! They actually hadn't opened yet! They're one of those places that's open at night instead of during the day. So I just had to wait an hour to go in.

I turned in the cans and spoke to Dusty again. He delivered the scooter right to my place! I spoke to Uncle Hayseed to let him know the bikers were taken care of and he thanked me. Then he gave me some bad news. He said I need to find a place of my own so I'm not living in the barn. I think we both know that this summer holiday may end up being a bit more permanent. So I get it. I need to scrounge up the cash to pay my uncle rent and we'll be even. 

Once that's done, I need to find some guy named Giuseppi to help me move my things. That will have to be a task for tomorrow. Goodnight and thanks for reading!

Day 4: Something Strange

 I met Nora Zeal-Ott on my way to buy a shower. Apparently she's running for Assistant Associate Treasurer and has been Miss Sim Valley for the last 3 years. Good for her. I don't know her well enough to know if I'm going to vote for her, though. I'm just here for vacation, so I probably can't actually vote for her, now that I think about it. 

I was able to deliver that CD to her from Vera Vex, and do you know what Nora did? Complained that I didn't deliver it fast enough. Seems rude to be honest. Not a way to be if you're trying to get someone's vote.

I ran into the detective at the general store when I was going to buy a shower. He asked me to deliver a wanted poster to Dusty Hogg. I haven't even met Dusty Hogg. Guess I will eventually. Hopefully he's not as rude as Nora was. 

I glanced at the poster out of curiosity. A man is wanted for trapping his roommate in his house with furniture and just watching him starve. That's messed up. Who does that sort of thing?? Luckily I was able to put it out of my mind quickly, because as I was heading back to the barn to install my new shower, I met Dusty. He calls himself mean, but when I delivered the poster, he was grateful and even paid me some simoleons. The payment wasn't necessary, but I gladly accepted it. I don't think he's as mean as he claims to be. He's just a big teddy bear, I'm certain of it. 

After getting the shower installed (which was way easier than I thought it would be, who would've guessed all you have to do is place it down somewhere?), Uncle Hayseed said Detective Dan had a favor to ask me. Kind of annoying he didn't just ask me when I saw him at the general store, but it is what it is.

I found him outside the general store, apparently his favor is for me to befriend his niece. Nora is his niece. She might have more friends if she was less rude. Dan said she lost her mother to the Veloci-Rooster. 

Dan also asked me to check out the nightly auction at the general store because something fishy is going on.

I hung out with Nora for a bit, then it was time for the auction. I bid all I could, but I had nowhere near the amount Vernon Peeve did. I was going for a cool suit of armor, if you were wondering. 

Ever since I got to Sim Valley, the road by Uncle Hayseed's has been blocked off by road blocks, and the road past the general store has been blocked off by a bunch of motorcycles. Uncle Hayseed asked me to talk to the bikers to get them to move their bikes so he could deliver some produce to Sim City. 

I went back to Dusty Hogg. He seems like a biker gang leader. Apparently his bike broke down and he lost his helmet. I told him I'd help him out if he got his friends to move their bikes afterwards. He laughed at the prospect of me fixing his bike, but said I was welcome to try. Well, joke's on him because I was able to do it. Fixed his bike, found his helmet, told him he was all set. He couldn't get the bikes moved though, not yet anyway. Apparently he's friends with the bar owner, and the bar owner needs someone to help sling smoothies. I said I'd do it. Just another job. The bar is called the Burning Spoke by the way. 

I finished slinging smoothies and got a promotion. Then it was time to head home for the night. I'll talk to Dusty tomorrow. 

Day 3: Detective Dan

 Today I wandered around the area searching for Detective Dan. I met some new people today too. Everyone seems relatively nice. I met a poet named Claire Clutterbell. We talked outside the general store for a bit, then I spotted who could only be the detective. He's a big man that wears the classic detective attire, like something you'd see in a movie! Detective Dan D. Mann is how he introduced himself. 

When I asked him about my uncle's chickens, he said he does know who keeps letting them out. Some sort of "abomination" he calls the Veloci-Rooster? I don't know, sounds fake. The lab accident is even numbered 24601. Wasn't that the prisoner number of someone in a movie somewhere? I guess it doesn't matter. The detective said he's been after the rooster for his whole life. 

Uncle Hayseed seems to believe that if the detective said it was the Veloci-Rooster, it must be true. My uncle also thought it was just a legend at first. I'm still skeptical. 

All that business out of the way, it was time to spruce up my living space. Uncle Hayseed said I could sell the old couch to the biker bar and asked me to buy and install a shower so I could stop using his. Well, if I want to buy a shower, I need to earn some money, so back to mowing lawns!

On the way back to the house, I met a cowgirl named Bucky Brock. She says she's the only person in Sim Valley to last 8 seconds on the mechanical bull. It's longer than I would last, that's for sure.

After I finished mowing the lawn, the store was closed, so I'll have to go back tomorrow.  

Hope Uncle Hayseed doesn't mind me using his shower for one more night!

Day 2: Chicken Chaser

 After a nice nap, I mowed the grass. It was hard to figure out the riding mower at first, ran into a couple rocks, and accidentally mowed one of Uncle Hayseed's flowers, but he didn't get too upset by it. I even got a promotion! So next time I mow, I'll get paid more! He was impressed by how good the lawn looked when I was done. The work doesn't end there, though! Some jerk let all his chickens loose, so I had to run around town searching for them. Who just lets out an old man's chickens? Honestly...

As I wandered around town, I met some other people. The first guy I met is some dude named Mel Odious. Apparently, he has anger issues that he's working on. I think he's a musician of some sort. At the biker bar, there was this chick named Vera Vex, she's in a band. She seems super cool. I asked if there was anything she needed done, and she asked me to deliver a CD to someone named Nora. There was also one of my uncle's chickens in the bar, not where I expected to find one, but here we are.

I also met a boxer named Mad Willy Hurtzya and a guy named Vernon Peeve. I found 5 chickens at this point, but I needed to eat something. Grabbed a snack and set out to find more chickens. By 3am I had found all of the chickens. 

Now I need to find Detective Dan, but first, sleep.
