Day 27 & 28: A Ghostly Encounter

 Day 27

I went to the library today and read up on the mechanical intricacies of lock mechanisms. Then I read about logic. There weren't any chairs at the library, so I read for a few hours just standing in one place. It was pretty uncomfortable. But by the end of the day, I felt I could successfully speak to this ghost. It was late though, and I was hungry. So I headed to my uncle's for food, then crashed there for the night. 

Day 28

I woke up and immediately headed for the creepy house to pick the lock. It worked! I went inside and didn't see any ghosts. There was an old suit of armor and some other cool old stuff. Maybe it was one of those ghosts that only comes out at night. Or maybe Claire Clutterbell is crazy and only hallucinated a ghost. Either way, I decided to go do some odd jobs and come back later.

While wandering around town I ran into Lottie Cash. She was having a dilemma about some show called Pizza Pandemonium and whether she should donate to it or buy it. I suggested donating, but she hated that idea. She thought that was playing it safe and sounded boring. Then suggested I try to have a little fun and become a contestant on it. So I said sure, why not? Apparently I need to befriend the chef and pay the entry fee, and I guess having some cooking skill would be good. The entry fee is a little steep at 2500 simoleons, so I'll have to take a couple days to earn that.

At 4pm I went back to the spooky house. There was a bed there, so I decided to take a nap on it. Maybe there'd be a ghost when I woke up. There was no sign of a ghost, but I hung around until midnight, and he appeared! So Claire wasn't crazy after all!

His name is Ephram Earl. He seems rather eccentric. He had some riddles for me. 

His first riddle was "How many sides does a circle have?" I got that one correct.

His second one I wasn't so sure of. He asked which didn't belong in a list of fruit, "Apple, grape, banana, or pear." I got that one right as well!

His third was "How many letters are in the alphabet?" Easy enough. 

The fourth I was truly clueless. "What other letter fits the following series? B C D E I K O X. I got that one wrong and the ghost knocked me out. I woke up in the hospital. I guess I'll have to figure this out tomorrow.
